The day after Valentine’s day, Queens based artist Shaun Leonardo will be transforming the exhibition into a Central and Latin American ‘Tiki Tiki’ or ‘Mesera’ Club. These clubs, very popular in Queens, usually have men paying women $2 for a dance of bachata, cumbia or merengue. For this evening, Leonardo will be reversing the usual role of transaction, and creating a party/club where women will pay men $2 for a dance. A local DJ playing Latin American music, cocktails, and professional dancers will make this a very fun evening of post-Valentine’s day role reversal.
This event is really for a Queens audience and we want to make sure we get the word out! The event is free – but visitors will pay $2 per dance.
