This is an ongoing series of once-a-month showcases featuring live Flamenco and other styles of Spanish dance and music, taking place this Friday, June 14, 2013 at 8:30 PM, at the Chian Federation, 44-01 Broadway (at 44th Street), Astoria , NY.

It is presented in a cabaret-type format and atmosphere, guests can enjoy food and drinks while being entertained by some of the finest talent from New York City and abroad. Tablao Flamenco re-creates the experience of being in a flamenco club, or ‘tablao’, in Spain, to the delight of local audiences.

Tablao Flamenco was established in 2008 by Gabriela Granados, the
Artistic Director and Founder of American Bolero Dance Company, whose
mission is to present performances in the United States that
accurately represent the music, history and the traditional dances of
Spain and Latin America. Guided by this mission, and drawing upon both
her extensive training in Classical and Regional Spanish dances,
Escuela Bolera, and Flamenco, and years of experience performing in
Madrid’s legendary tablaos flamencos (Los Canasteros, Zambra and Las
Brujas), Ms. Granados created this unique series to bring the artistry
and excitement of Flamenco and Spanish dance, along with world-class
entertainers, to the borough on a regular basis. The New York Times
has called Ms. Granados’ programs “exuberant and stylish” and
her solo work “stunning…a tour de force”.

The series’ 2013 Spring Season Finale on June 14th features special
guest, JUAN SIDDI, Artistic Director-Founder of the Santa Fe-based
Juan Siddi Flamenco Theatre Company. He joins a fabulous roster of
renowned artists from the New York City flamenco community, including
dancers GABRIELA GRANADOS, SOL “LA ARGENTINITA”, and LILIANA
MORALES, singers ALFONSO CID and AURORA REYES, and guitarists RAPHAEL
BRUNN and CRISTIAN PUIG. The BALLET ESPANOL de GABRIELA GRANADOS will
also debut a stylish classical Spanish group choreography set to
Ravel’s Bolero.
