This Flushing hospital has numerous support groups, blood drives and classes for the community, patients as well as our employees and medical staff. This month, there are more than 50 classes and events. For example, New York Hospital Queens (NYHQ) presents a lecture on the symptoms, treatment, and prognosis for chronic hepatitis on Wednesday, July 17, from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m., at Flushing Library (41-17 Main Street, Flushing, New York). Hepatitis is swelling of the liver, causing the liver to not function properly. It can lead to cirrhosis (scarring) or even cancer. This lecture is presented by Ari Bunim, M.D., attending hepatologist & gastroenterologist, NYHQ.
