La Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Queens celebra este viernes 10 de diciembre su Novena Gala Anual en el Terrace on the Park del Parque Flushing. Es a partir de las 7 de la noche y se honrará a Jorge Muñoz, conocido como El ángel de Queens por su labor humanitaria a favor de los desamparados. Todas las noches, Muñoz reparte comida en la esquina de la avenida Roosevelt y la calle 73, y debido a esto recibió recientemente una condecoración del presidente Barack Omaba en la Casa Blanca.
También recibirán honores de parte de los directivos de la Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Queens, la presidenta del Concejo de Nueva York, Christine Quinn, la empresa Wells Fargo, la doctora Maritza Múnez de Núnez Dental, el empresario Pedro Zamora del centro nocturno La Boom, Robert Levin de NY Enterprise Report, y Zoila Bofill de la Biblioteca Pública de Queens.
“En los últimos años nuestra institución ha avanzado mucho en el reconocimiento y la unificación de los empresarios latinos de Queens”, dijo Patricia Mahecha, presidenta de la Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Queens. “Esta gala es el momento preciso para conectar y hacer crecer las empresas en la ciudad de Nueva York. Estoy muy orgullosa de nuestra institución y felicito a todos los miembros de nuestra cámara por su inmejorable trabajo en beneficio de los comerciantes latinos de esta nación”.
La entrada cuesta 150 dólares por persona. La maestra de ceremonias es Damaris Díaz y la Orquesta La Sociedad animará la noche, al igual que Pure Rhythm.

Quinn has worked with small business owners across the city for the welfare of the business community with various issues like health, taxes and contracts. Christine Quinn has additionally been a good friend of the Hispanic Community.
