On Tuesday, November 30th Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer participated in P.S. 199’s First Career Day in Sunnyside. Council Member Van Bramer was among fifteen other local professionals who volunteered to share their personal stories and answer questions about their careers with the children. Mrs. Westcott’s fourth grade students had a one-on-one opportunity to find out what a day in the life of a Council Member is like. The children also had an opportunity to speak with other professionals, which included a Marine Biologist, a Firefighter and local business owners. This was the first career day organized by P.S. 199 and its tremendous success this year has made it likely to become an annual event for the school.
