State Senator Jose Peralta (D-East Elmhurst), in cooperation with Queens Center, distributed hundreds of toys to non-profits and family shelters as part of his annual Holiday Toy Drive. The celebration took part at Queens Center Saturday, Dec. 6th. Children, families and representatives from the local organizations participated in the event. Each of the 20 local organizations received 20 toys. “I hope these toys will bring smiles to children in this hard economic times,” said Sen. Peralta. “This toy drive is another form of giving something back to the community, specially our families in need.”
“It is always a pleasure to partner with Senator Peralta each year to ensure that underprivileged children and families in our community receive toys for Christmas,” said John Scaturro, Queens Center Marketing Manager. “Queens Center is able to provide toys and the Senator’s office works with many non-profit organizations that serve Queens families, so it’s a perfect partnership. This year Queens Center will have distributed nearly 1,000 toys in the community through great partnerships like the one with Senator Peralta. Together we can help bring a little joy during the holiday season to those families most in need.”
