The 82nd Street Partnership celebrated the restoration of 82-01 Roosevelt Ave. on Dec. 17. The Jackson Heights-based Business Improvement District helped rehab the historic building with a $50,000 Neighborhood Challenge award from the NYC Department of Small Business Services.
The Partnership used the grant to offer property owners and merchants free design assistance and a matching construction grant as part of a larger effort to enhance local quality of life, preserve retail diversity, and improve business conditions by restoring building facades and enhancing the district’s sense of place.
By year’s end, the Partnership will have restored seven ground floor storefronts and three upper floor facades at three different properties on 82nd Street between 37th and Roosevelt avenues.
