Volunteers from the P.S. 16 PTA Gardening Club and the Aliento de Vida Church painted fences and gardened in Corona Plaza on Oct. 5. Organized by the Queens Economic Development Corporation and the NYC Department of Parks, the beautification event was part of an ongoing effort to make the public space a shopping, socializing and relaxing destination in Corona. The next event is set for Oct. 26, when volunteers will do some planting.
