
After working in sales and marketing for more than a decade, Donna La Bassiere joined Queens Latino Publication as Vice President. “I love the energy and the rich heritage of this community . My goal is to inspire, teach and lastly help Latino’s persevere against all odds and impossibilities,” said La Bassiere in her new office.
La Bassiere is an expert in marketing services and event’s strategist. She has worked in print, digital advertising and public relations. In 2009 and 2010 La Bassiere won the Sales Person of the Year Award at the Queens Courier. At that media company, La Bassiere sold display and classified ads, and was in charge of special supplements and events such as Top Women.
At the end of 2011, before she joined QueensLatino.com, La Bassiere was the Director of Marketing and Special Event’s Strategist for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Queens (HCCQ). She helped produce the HCCQ magazine that was distributed during the 2011 Masquerade Gala and coordinated the event held at Terrace of the Park at Flushing Meadow Corona Park, in Queens.
“I think of myself as a bridge to connect business to business and businesses to consumers,” said La Bassiere. “This is the best way to provide services and bring opportunities to entrepreneurs and small businesses in this time of economic uncertainty. I am going to continue helping HCCQ and the Latino community at large.”
La Bassiere has organized business expos, corporate gala’s, workshops, fund raisers, seminars and was the marketer for Venezuelan born contour fashion designer Harper Atelier for Fashions night out September 11th. She is French and West Indian. Her connections to the ethnic community of New York are deep. For seven years La Bassiere worked as organizer then promoted to head organizer for Acorn, a non-for profit organization that advocates for low -and moderate- income families.

One of the main projects for La Bassiere this year is to organize the First QueensLatino Awards in June of 2012 when this media outlet celebrates its second anniversary. The Awards will be giving to the Best Person in these six categories: Community Activism, Immigration, Entrepreneurship, Politics, Education and Entertainment.
