NewYork-Presbyterian Queens will present TWIST & SPROUT!—a family-friendly, free event—on Sunday, June 11, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Queens Botanical Garden, 43-50 Main Street, Flushing.
Families will learn about health and wellness, nutrition, ways to safely enjoy exercising and other outdoor activities, as well as the many delights of being in a garden. TWIST & SPROUT! will feature entertainment and fun for the whole family, including cooking demonstrations, family workouts and the opportunity to interact with NewYork-Presbyterian Queens’ doctors, nurses and staff.
Queens Botanical Garden staff will plant herbs with kids and introduce them to fruit and vegetable crafts. TWIST & SPROUT! was inspired by the pediatric residents from Weill Cornell Medicine during their training in community pediatrics at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. The residents took a lead role in organizing and shaping the afternoon’s programming, and will be on hand to engage with the community and offer health tips.
