NYHQ Elected New Board Trustee

Anne Coté Taylor

New York Hospital Queens (NYHQ) has elected a new member to the Board of Trustees, Anne Coté Taylor, who has devoted her life to the improvement of health care for New Yorkers, including Queens residents.

In her professional career, Ms. Coté Taylor worked at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Campus (then, New York Hospital), beginning as a staff nurse in 1966, up through her retirement in 1994 as vice president of Nursing.

Ms. Coté Taylor currently dedicates her time to the governance of health care institutions throughout New York City. She serves on the Board of Trustees of Silvercrest Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, a long-term nursing and rehabilitation facility in Queens; the Calvary Hospital, an acute care specialty hospital in the Bronx; the Rogosin Institute, a medical treatment and research institution for kidney disease, including dialysis and transplantation; and the Eye Bank for Sight Restoration, the world’s first eye bank to collect, process and distribute donor eye tissue for cornea transplants, medical education and research, both based in Manhattan.

Chairman of the NYHQ Board, George F. Heinrich, M.D., stated, “Ms. Coté Taylor’s clinical acumen, as well as her experience in the governance of some of the city’s most successful health care organizations, makes her a great addition to our Board.”

President and Chief Executive Officer, Stephen S. Mills, said, “I have worked along side Ms. Coté Taylor on the Board of Trustees of the Silvercrest Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation; I know Ms. Coté Taylor bases her considerations on high quality and safe medical care for the community.”

Ms. Coté Taylor achieved her master’s degree in Public Administration at New York University and earned her bachelor’s of science in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1991, she was recognized for her contributions to the health care of New Yorkers with the Life of the City Award from New York Woman Magazine.

Ms. Coté Taylor is the widow of the late Paul E. Taylor, Jr., the first chairman of New York Hospital Queens after the hospital’s transition from Booth Memorial Medical Center in 1992. He served on the Board of Trustees of New York Hospital Queens from 1992 until his passing in 2007.
