The Queens Chamber of Commerce held a Business Card Exchange this week at The Foundry in Long Island City, Queens. “A great opportunity to meet business people,” said Jack Friedman, Executive Director of Queens Chamber of Commerce. “We are here to help.”
Councilman Jimmy Van Brammer welcomed everybody to the historical Foundry and said that he is glad “The Queens Chamber of Commerce selected Long Island City to do business. This is a beautiful place.”
Ivan Urgiles, Investment Counselor for David Lerner Associates, Inc., said that they focus on building people’s assets. “Wall Street has been a roller coaster, but not our company. We keep away from that,” said Urgiles.
The Queens Chamber of Commerce is also preparing to celebrate its 100 Anniversary with a Centennial Gala this September 24 at the Terrace on the Park, in Flushing Meadow Corona Park, Queens. “A party of the century with international personalities, exotic foods, non-stop partying, and opportunities to do business,” said Friedman at the Foundry.
Paisley Demby from LaGuardia Community College was at The Foundry promoting the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses. “It is a great opportunity for small businesses to prosper in this economy, and we welcome any business with more than 4 employees,” said Demby.
